Why hire a professional organizer?

The same reason you would hire any professional, because you don’t know how to do it on your own, because no one ever taught you how to organize! think about it, as young people we are told to clean our room but never taught how. whack, right? It’s assumed that we must just know, but in fact there is an art and a science to tiding your space in a way that will make it flow and function. Once you experience a truly organized space and learn how to organize for yourself, you’ll never look back.

What happens during a consultation?

The goal of a consultation is to discuss exactly what you need and how I can help. Not sure if you need a professional organizer, or if I’m the right one for you? schedule a free 30 minute consultation and we can see if it’s a good match. If you decide it’s not a service you need or that I’m not the right person to do it, I guarantee my feelings will not be hurt.

How should I prepare? Should I clean up before you come to organize?

No preparation necessary, eat a healthy breakfast and fantasize about what your ideal space would be like. Please do not clean up! you can throw away obvious trash and clear dishes, but it’s important for me to see which things pile up where so we can find the best solutions.

I’m embarrassed because my space is so messy.

That wasn’t a question but I forgive you. If you’re looking for judgment you won’t find it here. I recognize the bravery and vulnerability it takes to reach out, and I am deeply honored to be allowed into your home. As the inimitable Marie Kondo once said, “I’m so excited because I love mess.”

Will you make me throw all my stuff away?

Absolutely not! What I will do is help you define what really has value to you, and deserves space in your home and in your thoughts so that you are surrounded only by things that bring positive energy into your life, or serve functional purpose. Whether that’s an expensive collection of memorabilia, or rocks you’ve picked up on hikes, we’ll find a way to make your space somewhere you want to be.
